In this post, I’m going to go into detail on how you can start doing affiliate marketing in some unusual but profitable ways. It’s highly recommended that you try some of these strategies yourself. Let’s dive into it!
What Are The Best Ways To Do Affiliate Marketing?
It is no secret that there are multiple ways to do affiliate marketing, but which way is the best?
To succeed as an affiliate you need to choose the way that suits you the best.
You don’t need to do affiliate marketing in multiple ways at once. I recommend that you only pick one way, then go all in. Down below I’ve listed 11 different ways you can do affiliate marketing. Read through the article and find out what works best for you.
1. Blogging and SEO
To be honest blogging & SEO are probably my favourite ways to do affiliate marketing on this list. That’s just because it’s relatively easy to get started with and it becomes a real sustainable and passive income source in the future.
Affiliate marketing and blogging go hand in hand with each other. they’re perfect together. Let me tell you why. If you create a niche website that’s targeting the perfect audience for your affiliate products. All you need to do is write content that ranks on Google to get in front of their eyes.
Then you will generate thousands of free organic visitors each month to your blog.
Although this way of doing affiliate marketing might be the one with most work, it’s also the one with highest reward. Just imagine this: you’re done writing all the content on your blog and you’re just wait for it to rank on Google. Once it does, the traffic starts coming in and you’ll begin to earn affiliate commissions. The best part is the passive income you get from your blog. The traffic will keep coming in each month and you don’t need to lay a hand on that blog anytime soon.

Today Videos dominates the internet. Millions of videos are watched on YouTube every single day and more people use videos in their marketing. But why is that?
Videos has a higher conversion rate than written content.
That’s because videos helps you engage and connect with your audience on a whole new level. It’s a reason of why todays internet ”gurus” create free video trainings and webinars. Because it sells!

Social media: not my favourite way to do affiliate marketing, but it can be done. There are dozens of examples of people doing affiliate marketing on Instagram and Facebook.
The key is to always add value to your audience. If you give them something first, it’s much more likely they will buy something from you in the future.
All you really want is to drive targeted traffic to your affiliate products to maximize your conversion rates.
Example: If your niche is very cometetive on Google and YouTube then creating content on Instagram or Facebook will be a good alternative to drive traffic.
Let’s talk about how you can do affiliate marketing on the two largest social media platforms:
Doing Affiliate Marketing On Instagram:
First you want to create a niche account and start posting content that’s engaging and visual. You might want to join engagement groups that will engage with your content so it’s more likely to come on the explore page.
It’s never wrong to collaborate with other accounts in your niche to share content with your followers.
The one problem with Instagram is that you can only have one link on your account. That’s in your bio. When you reach 10K followers you’ll be able to add links on your stories where your followers can ‘swipe up’.
You can also utilize huge influencers in your niche if you don’t want to start from the beginning yourself. This can be a great way of generating affiliate sales, but it isn’t free.
Doing Affiliate Marketing On Facebook:
On facebook you can share affiliate links on your own profile or you can join groups and connect with people.
I would Join several groups in my niche and again give value and answer questions within that group.
You can also create your own Facebook group and build your audience within your niche.
If you’re going to join other groups, make sure it’s ok by the creator that you might post affiliate links or ask for people to join your own group. You normally find the rules when you join the group or in the sidebar.
At the end of the day you just want to drive targeted traffic to your affiliate link!
4. Forums & QnA Websites
As affiliate marketers, this is a glodmine. Forums and QnA websites are places where you can connect directly with your targeted audience.
A QnA website I recommend you take a look at is Quora. There you can find people who ask questions about everything. All you need to do is to search for the topic or questions you want to answer.
This is a great way of doing affiliate marketing because you can answer your audience directly. Here are a few things to remember when answering questions on Quora:
- Be friendly
- Add value
- Link to helpful content
- Answer the question
One important thing to remember when going into forums and QnA websites is that you can’t always post you affiliate link inside them. This means if you’re going to promote your affiliate product, you need to send them to an optin page or bridge funnel etc.
NOTE: if you write poorly answers and just spam your affiliate links, you might get banned (that has happened to me a couple of times).
To find forums in your niche just go on Google and type in ”your niche’ forums”. Then become a part of the community and start adding value.
This is a great affiliate marketing strategy and I know you can drive a lot of traffic if you do it the right way.
5. Paid Advertising
Paid advertising can also be a profitable way of doing affiliate marketing. Facebook, Instagram, Google and YouTube are great platforms to advertise on, because most of your audience are here.
There are many successful affiliate marketers who uses paid advertising to generate sales.
Similar to Quora, you can’t link directly to your affiliate product on most of these platforms when you’re running ads. This means you need to send the traffic to an optin page or a bridge page.
Before you start to run ads I highly recommend you learn how to do it first. Yes, it’s a good way to generate sales, but only if you know how to do it.
I’ve seen to many people thrown away money on ads, simply just because they don’t know how to run them properly. This is truly the last thing you want.
Running ads isn’t the cheapest way of doing affiliate marketing, but it can be highly profitable if you know how to do it right.
If you’re going to run ads to promote your affiliate products, here are some helpful tips:
- Locate your targeted audience: Do your dream customers hang around on Facebook & Instagram or are they most on Google & YouTube?
- Learn how to run ads properly: Take a course about advertising where your targeted audience is located: Social media or search engines?
- Don’t link directly to you affiliate product: Putting your affiliate link directly on ads might be against the policy. Instead link to an optin page or bridge page and then send people to your affiliate product.
This will help you achieve better results with affiliate marketing when running ads.
6. Email Marketing
Email marketing is a great way to both increase your sales and automate your affiliate business. I think it should be a part of your affiliate marketing no matter what strategies you use.
When you collect emails and build your list, you create an asset in your business which can be used many years forward. You can at any time send out an email to your hundreds or thousands of subscribers and drive traffic to new affiliate offers.
You’re also able to create an autoresponder within your email provider. This will let you send out promotional emails on autopilot, making you passive income with affiliate marketing.

You can simply recommend these tools to the business owners and show how to use them. This way of doing affiliate marketing is highly effective because you help companies make more money. Then they’re more likely to stick with your recommended products.
You can also make money other places than affiliate marketing with this method. You can charge a monthly fee for helping companies out with their digital marketing, website, funnels, social media etc.
You don’t need to be an expert to do this. Just go out and find a couple of businesses in your home town and say that you have some experience with digital marketing and ask them if they need any help.
This business model is also very cheap to get started with. In fact, you don’t need any money to start a Social Media Marketing Agency.

8. Two Tier Affiliate Marketing
Two tier affiliate marketing is a great way to earn passive income. You basically sign up other affiliates to the affiliate program you’re in. They become your sub-affiliates, that means you’ll earn commissions from their sales.
Let’s say your sub-affiliate make a $100 sale and earns a 40% commission = $40. Then you would earn a 10% commission from that sale = $10.
This way you’ll earn a completely passive income with affiliate marketing.

Eventhough two tier afiliate marketing can be highly profitabel I wouldn’t get to excited. The fact are that 80% of the affiliates you refer will most likely never get a sale.
So my advice is to focus on your own marketing and sell products by yourself. But if you have the opportunity, sure, get some sub-affiliates under your name. It doesn’t hurt anyone.
Everything you earn from them is in fact pure profit and passive income.
9. Create A Digital Course
Publishing digital courses is a very effective way of doing affiliate marketing. Because when people have paid for a course, they feel like they need to take action. So if you recommend a product from inside the coure, they will most likely get it.

You also earn money from the course itself. I recommend that you don’t charge to much for it, max $1,000. You want as many people as possible to purchase it, right?
Another option for this is to create a course and sell it on ClickBank. Then you allow affiliates to promote your course, in return they get 70%-90% commission for the sale. The goal is to make money on the back-end, and not by the course itself. That’s why the affiliate commissions are so high. When you have a good course with high commission rate, many affiliates will promote it. That means you get free traffic into your course. Then inside the course you promote your own affiliate products.
When it comes to creating the course you don’t need to be an expert about your niche. You only need to be above average, then you’ll be just fine.
I’ve actually created a couple of courses myself. The first one was completely trash so I decided to take a course on how to make a digital course.

You can use Canva to create your ebooks. It’s a free tool with a lot of features. I highly recommend you check it out.
Here are some tips for creating the perfect ebook:
- Dive deep into the topic you’re writing about.
- Talk to the reader (your dream customer).
- Be sure to add affiliate links where its suitable but don’t spam them. Make it look natural.
- Add pictures and infographics.
- Make it simple and easy to read.
- Make it unique to your brand.
After you’re done writing your ebook you can from it to a PDF then give it away for free. You can use a software like Clickfunnels to create an optin page. After people have opted in you give them the ebook. This way you also capture their email.
11. Bridge Funnel With Bonuses
This way of doing affiliate marketing is very universal. It works in all niches. What you want to do is create a bridge page that closes the gap between the customer and the product.
A smart thing to do if you want to explode your conversion rate is to create a bonus which you give away for free when they purchase your affiliate product. This can be a PDF, eBook, Video training etc. Think about what the customer needs after buying your product, then make it and give it away for free as a bonus.
On the bridge page you should either make a video or write a couple of paragraphs where you tell the visitor how great this product is and what it can do for them. Your sales copy need to be on point. Make it look like the product you’re promoting is the solution to their problem.
Your bridge page should also include testimonials of people telling how great the product is. Social proof is important to build trust, so don’t skip this part.
